Damien has spent his career learning how to breed, grow and market mungbean. After achieving a Masters in Agronomy and Plant Breeding he spent several years managing research programs. In 2001 he moved into the mungbean supply chain, managing several cleaning and packing facilities before starting the Australian Mungbean Company in 2006. Damien is a past Vice President of the Australian Mungbean Association and chair of its Research Committee. He farms over 1000 acres in the Callide Valley growing, mungbean, chickpea, wheat and millet. His main role is managing pricing and export markets.

General Manager
Ben joined the AMCo team in 2020, after completing a business degree. He spent a season working in receivals and another in the grading plant before working with Damien on domestic and export sales, grower feedback and plant upgrade projects. In 2025 he bought into the business as a shareholder and took on the extra responsibility of managing site operations. He looks after grower delivery documentation and payment. Ben is a DAFF Authorised Officer and a licenced fumigator.

Financial Controller and HR Manager
Jonnie has postgraduate qualifications in Soil Science and managed an international crop nutrition research program for 8 years before taking on the challenge of running the Australian Mungbean Company office. She takes responsibility for financial management and staffing.

Logistics Officer
Maddy started with AMCo in 2019 and now overseas all logistics operations including intake and export operations and supervises a small team of staff. She is a DAFF Authorised Officer.

Grading Plant Manager
Craig is in charge of the beating heart of AMCo – the grading plant. He has been part of our team since 2015 and over that time he has developed the very specialised skills required. He is responsible for grading and bagging operations, quality control and recording, as well as training and supervising our seasonal staff. He is a licensed fumigator and has his HR truck licence.

Receivals/Dispatch Officer
Olivia became part of the AMCo team in 2025 operating the weighbridge, unloading bulk deliveries, packing and loading outgoing seed orders, and loading export containers. She is a natural machinery operator and a very capable member of the yard crew. She is a DAFF Authorised Officer.

Administration Officer
Chloe joined the AMCo team in 2026 and is the first person most people will talk to when calling or visiting our site. She’s a country girl with great problem-solving skills and we think she’ll thrive in the craziness of the busy harvest season.
